SUMMARY:Red Canyon Ranch Community Hikes
DESCRIPTION:Join The Nature Conservancy in Wyoming for one of two community hikes at Red Canyon Ranch and learn about one of the most recognizable landscapes in the Lander area. \nHikers should meet at 8:30 a.m. in the Bomgaars parking lot (275 Grandview Dr.) to carpool to Red Canyon. Please wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring water\, sunglasses\, sunscreen\, a hat\, and jacket. \nThe Friday hike will be approximately 2.25 miles long with about three hundred feet of elevation gain. Expect to be back at Bomgaars around noon. \nThe Saturday hike will be approximately 5.5 miles in length and gain about one thousand feet in elevation. There is some travel on uneven terrain. Expect to return to Bomgaars around 2:30 p.m. Please leave your dogs at home for both hikes. \nDates: Friday\, May 30\, 2025 (shorter hike) or Saturday\, May 31\, 2025 (longer hike)\nLocation: Red Canyon Ranch\nMeet to carpool at Bomgaars (275 Grandview Dr.\, Lander\, WY 82520) \nPlease RSVP to Pat Mettenbrink at p.mettenbrink@tnc.org or call (307) 332-2977 and specify which day you would like to go hiking. DESCRIPTION:Where is the Book Nook? \nThe Book Nook is located in the Lander Library on the lower level of the Carnegie Building and is accessible by stairs and elevator. \nWhat is the Book Nook? \nThe Book Nook has a good selection of used books in all subject areas\, DVDs\, audio books\, music CDs\, and\, often\, games and puzzles. \nAlthough there is no charge for books and other items\, donations are much appreciated. All proceeds are used by Lander Library Friends Association to support Lander Library projects and programming. \nPLEASE NOTE: IF THE LANDER PUBLIC LIBRARY IS CLOSED\, THE BOOK NOOK WILL BE CLOSED AS WELL.
