SUMMARY:WYO131 Gravel Grinder
DESCRIPTION:The WYO131 Gravel Grinder is the ultimate Wyoming cycling experience\, held annually the second weekend in September. Courses weave through the red desert and historic mining towns. Participants follow the tracks of the Oregon Trail up to South Pass and Atlantic City\, across to Louis Lake Road\, through forests and along a lake\, and through Sinks Canyon State Park. Riders end back in Lander for an afterparty sponsored by Melvin Brewing Company. \nFriday\, September 8:\nBike and Beer Social at Gannett Peak Sports (371 Main St.) from 3 to 6 p.m.\nPacket Pickup/Check-in at Lander Bakeshop (259 Main St.) from 5 to 8 p.m. \nSaturday\, September 9:\nRace Day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.\nAfterparty at Lander City Park (405 Fremont St.) from 12 to 7 p.m. Hang out with Melvin Brewing\, watch racers come in\, eat some barbecue and relax under the shade. Awards take place around 5 p.m. and raffles follow. \nNEW COURSE LENGTHS FOR 2023:\n13-Mile: Paved family friendly route for all ages and bikes!\n40-Mile: Perfect route for those who are new to gravel and want to see what all the fun is about.
