Wild Mustangs Up Close
The Wind River Wild Horse Sanctuary welcomes visitors to take a 45 minute side-by-side tour to see one of the wild horse herds. Their Visitors Center, which is free and open to the public, has informational displays about the horses, their operation and Native American culture. Additionally, the Visitors Center has a gift shop with handmade Native American jewelry, pottery, dream catchers and more.
Tour Cost: $45 for adults (18+), $20 for ages 6-17, children 5 and under are free.
Wild Mustangs embody the mystique of the European conquistadores, Native Americans, settlers, and miners. The Wind River Wild Horse Sanctuary recognizes the importance of maintaining the historical value of the Mustang. The sanctuary provides professional care in a free-roaming environment on the Oldham’s working cattle ranch on the Wind River Indian Reservation near Lander, Wyoming.

Directions
Take U.S. Hwy. 287 North from Lander 7.5 miles, toward Fort Washakie. The Visitor Center driveway is the first entrance on your right, after Plunkett Road.
Admission and Hours
Entrance is FREE to the Sanctuary’s Visitor Center for viewing the interpretative display. Admission is charged for the public tours of the mustangs cared for on the ranch. $40 for adults, $20 for ages 6-17, and 5 and under free.
Summer Hours: Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Custom tours available outside of regular operating hours by reservation.
