A Different Way to Experience Wyoming

Each community in Wind River Country reveals a different side of the region. In Dubois, watch bighorn sheep move across open hillsides, ride horseback through the Absarokas and step inside the National Museum of Military Vehicles, home to one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of historic military vehicles.

In Lander, trails begin just beyond town in Sinks Canyon State Park, where hiking, biking and world-class climbing are part of everyday life. Riverton serves as a central hub, with local shops, restaurants, museums and access to public lands that connect you to communities across the county.

The Wind River Indian Reservation remains central to this place, home to the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho Tribes. Here, culture, history and contemporary community life are part of what you’ll experience every day.

Explore each destination and discover how landscape, culture and community come together across Wind River Country.
