The NMMV and CWC Presents: The Evolution of U.S. Helmets

National Museum of Military Vehicles and Central Wyoming College Presents: The Evolution of U.S. Helmets — From tin hats and steel pots to k-pots and advanced combat helmets.

Professional militaries from the dawn of time have shared a common piece of equipment… the helmet. Helmets have changed in looks, patterns and materials, but have always had the same desire for head protection. Together we will study, hands-on, the evolution of the U.S. military helmet from World War I to modern times. The National Museum of Military Vehicles “Hands-On History” Programs are “bag lunch” programs — feel free to bring your own lunch and spend the entire day at the museum.

Instructor Rae G. Whitley, a curator at the National Museum of Military Vehicles in Dubois, WY, will lead you through each of these hands-on history programs. His many years as a public historian and U.S. Army veteran, provide a unique and fun “edutainment” experience. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to feel history as he shows you artifacts while explaining their historical relevance. This “preview” opportunity will allow you to encounter the items before they go on exhibit.

Tickets are $10 and are available at cwcdubois.eventbrite.com.
