The Eastern Shoshone Indian Days Powwow is a three-day celebration that usually happens in mid-June at the Fort Washakie powwow grounds. All are welcome to enjoy from great food vendors, arts and craft for sale, traditional Indian games, a parade, carnival games, and of course, traditional dancing to the sounds of several drum groups.
Hundreds of dancers come together to compete for large prize monies and the community enjoys Indian tacos, authentic bead work for sale and everyone’s favorite powwow treats and activities. Community members are recognized, families host dances and admission is free for each day.
Grand Entry is at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday.
