Jurassic Classic Mountain Bike Festival

82nd One Shot Antelope Hunt
Every September, hunters gather in Lander and compete in the One Shot Antelope Hunt — a competitive hunt that pits eight three-man teams against each other. The task of each team member is to harvest a pronghorn antelope with one shot. The One Shot Antelope Hunt is an 82-year-tradition with a powerful alumni list. Lander was known as the “Apple City” for the high number of orchards and the apples – an important part of the agricultural economy in this area. A wonderful part of Lander’s history will be explored with speakers, an apple pie contest (cash prizes), local apple cider and apple samples, kids crafts, and a petting zoo. “A Totally Groovy Christmas.” The Festival of Trees is a fundraiser for CES. Families can have a preview of elegantly decorated trees, enjoy hot chocolate and apple cider, children's crafts, face painting, cookie decorating, cake walk, cotton candy, a visit from Santa and free soup, while it lasts! “A Totally Groovy Christmas.” For individuals and corporate sponsors: dinner, silent auction and a live auction of beautifully decorated themed Christmas trees and wreaths. Corporate tables are available for $600, seating eight people. VIP admission is at 5:30 p.m. with general admission from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Fremont Center at the Fremont County Fairgrounds.
