Wind River Country has something for everyone the weekend of July 15 to 18.
Climb in Sinks Canyon and Wild Iris during the International Climbers’ Festival, enjoy the view of Wind River Country from the sky during the Riverton Rendezvous Hot Air Balloon Rally or opt to stay indoors to watch history come alive at Dubois Museum Day.
Riverton Rendezvous Hot Air Balloon Rally
The Riverton Rendezvous and Balloon Rally is fast approaching. Expect the fun-filled weekend to be packed with car shows, pancakes and hot air balloons. The rally spans three days, Friday, July 16 to Sunday, July 18, and is free to the public.
Start off the weekend at 6 p.m. Friday evening with the car cruise, which begins from Sutherlands and ends at Main Street. The night finishes with a street party on Main Street and a candlestick ceremony at 8:30 p.m.
Balloons lift off at 6 a.m. Saturday morning behind Central Wyoming College’s soccer field, which is located next to the white-water tower. Come hungry, as a complimentary pancake breakfast will be provided to attendees. Saturday will be filled with various events, including the Rocky Mountain Rebels Car & Bike Show, which will be held on the south lawn at 2660 Peck Avenue in Riverton. At 8 p.m. glowing balloons will be launched from the field. The night ends with a firework show on top of Airport Hill at 10 p.m.
At 6 a.m. Sunday morning, see the last air balloon launch of the rally behind Central Wyoming College.

International Climbers’ Festival
Tickets are on sale now for Lander’s 27th ½ International Climbers’ Festival, which takes place from Thursday, July 15 to Sunday, July 18. This longest running international climbing event is a densely packed weekend full of climbing clinics, trade fairs, speakers and more.
Amateur and expert climbers alike are encouraged to attend. Thursday, July 15 has an Art Crawl from 4 to 7 p.m. along Main Street, followed by the Opening Party from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jaycee Park.
Breakfast is provided Friday morning from 7 to 9 a.m. at Lander City Park. Various climbing clinics and in-town clinics will be held all day and throughout the weekend. The Keynote event takes place Saturday, July 17 from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at Lander City Park. The festival ends Sunday, July 18 with various climbing clinics and a mountain bike ride put on by Gannett Peak Sports Group.

Dubois Museum Day
“History comes alive during the Dubois Museum’s annual Museum Day.”
Dubois Museum Day is Saturday, July 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dubois Museum, which is located at 909 West Rams Horn St., Dubois. Admission is free to the public.
Visitors can expect to be entertained with games, vendors and reenactments as they tour through various museum exhibits and through all seven historic buildings. Indian tacos, fried bread, hot dogs and lemonade will be provided to attendees. Donations are appreciated, and all proceeds go toward funding the Museum.
