Fly fishing shows about Dubois air this weekend

DUBOIS, WYOMING—”We both, hands down, had the most incredible day on the river today in the national forest. Fishing was great and the setting? Idyllic.”

The Wind River Visitors Council received this email from Mark Melnyk, who was in Dubois at the time, filming for new episodes of The New Fly Fisher and The Orvis Guide to Fly Fishing. This weekend, the results will start to be shown to the world. The Wind River episode of The New Fly Fisher will air Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Times and networks are listed below. Additionally, Melnyk will host a live chat online to answer questions from YouTube viewers.

Melnyk and guest Tom Rosenbauer, of Orvis Rod & Tackle, headed to Wind River Country in search of wild cutthroat and brown trout in some of the most wild places Wyoming has to offer. Dunoir Fishing Adventures and Jeramie Prine, based in Dubois, hosted the two as they shot photos and video for the two shows. The shoot and production were funded by the Wind River Visitors Council and Destination Dubois Tourism asset development (TAD) funds, which are generated by the county’s lodging tax.

Melnyk boasts this episode of The New Fly Fisher “is one of the most epic fly-fishing adventures to date!” The Wind River Visitors Council is eager to watch, and will share widely when travel to our communities is once again appropriate.

Friday, March 27 at 6 pm MST on WFN in the US

Saturday, March 28 at 7 pm MST on Sportsman’s Channel Canada

Sunday, March 29 at 9 am MST on YouTube (video won’t be available until 9 a.m. on Sunday)

A promotional teaser of the episode is available now:

“Wow, this is one of the best episodes ever! Thanks to Dubois and Dunoir for an amazing trip—in my mind the highlight of our filming season,” Rosenbauer said. Don’t miss it!
