There’s nothing to do here?? You’re just passing through on your way somewhere else?? Sleepy little towns?? We’ve heard it all before, and we just don’t understand. So we put together a list of things to do on any weeknight here. Try a few of these weeknight activities in Wind River Country, then tell us there’s nothing to do in our sleepy little towns.

Monday

Shoshone Rose Casino

Casinos: Start your wild week in Wind River Country off right by getting Lady Luck on your side. Wind River Country is host to the WindRiver Indian Reservation and therefore the only place in the state with casinos. Open 24-7, the three casinos in the county offer dining, cultural opportunities, and, of course, the opportunity to set your week off on the right foot with a little extra cash in your wallet.

Tuesday

Dubois Square dancing

Square Dancing, Dubois: Though it may seem cliché, you won’t stop smiling through an entire night of square dancing in an authentic cowboy town. Join a square dance any Tuesday night during the summer at the Rustic Pine Tavern (119 E Rams Horn, Dubois). Join fellow visitors and seasoned local dancers on the floor.

Native American Song and Dance Experience, Riverton: Native American dancers perform traditional dances in full regalia, including the popular hoop dance. These weekly dances are free to the public. Dancing begins at the Wind River Hotel & Casino at 6 p.m. every Tuesday night through the summer.

Wednesday

Native American Indian Dancing, Lander: Eagle Spirit Dancers present traditional dancing at the Museum of the American West every Wednesday evening during the summer. Performances begin at 7 p.m. and conclude with the friendship dance, during which the public is invited to join. These dances before the stunning backdrop of the Wind River Mountains are free to the public.

Lander LIVE, Lander: Lander LIVE is a free, live, summer concert series in Lander.  The concerts are held on the  Jaycee Park Stage near the brand-new Lander Visitors Center and Business Complex and the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River (North First and Main Streets).

Trivia Night, Lander: Hilarious fun, themed questions, and prizes. What more could you ask for in a game night? Oh wait—beer and appetizers. The Coalter Loft above the Lander Bar hosts this event each week at 7 p.m., so refreshments flow as easily as the laughs.

Friday

Friday Night Rodeo, Dubois: Before you leave Wind River Country for the next attraction, you have to get a rodeo under your belt. Dubois holds Friday Night Rodeos all summer long. Real rodeo action, authentic Western culture and sport, and more. Rodeos start each week at 7:30 p.m. at the Clarence Allison Memorial Arena. If you choose the right Friday night, you’ll even be able to catch kids gymkhana—a children’s competition on horses.

Should you find yourself lingering through the weekend after a couple fun weeknight activities in Wind River Country, you’ll find we have 10 times as much going on out here! Find the event or activity that suits your weekend style here.
