Eastern Shoshone Indian Days Powwow
61st Annual Eastern Shoshone Indian Days Powwow - Wyoming’s Largest Powwow, Indian Rodeo, & Relay Races. Friday - Grand Entry 7 pm – 10 pm. Saturday - Indian games 9 am. Parade 10 am. Host Craig Bromley points out sacred petroglyphs. Learn the Bureau of Land Management’s efforts to preserve them This trek requires a good amount of walking Please dress accordingly. Due to COVID-19 must provide their own transportation. Meet at the Riverton Museum to begin the drive to Castle Gardens. Everyone is responsible for bringing their own sack lunch and water. Riverton Museum: 1838 Mountain Man Rendezvous Site Adventure Trek
1838 Rendezvous Association provides a guided tour of the last preserved rendezvous site in the country. Meet at 9:30am - tour begins 10am at the 1838 Rendezvous Site. A good amount of walking so dress accordingly. Food is available at the site. Demonstrations and seminars following the tour. Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek Series. The Unblemished Story of the Nation’s First Female Judge. Kathryn Swim Cummings presents her new book at a talk and book signing about the trailblazing woman from South Pass City. In 1869 Wyoming Territory became the first US government to grant women the right to vote. As Justice of the Peace in the boomtown of South Pass City Esther Morris became the first woman to hold office in the US. Wyoming Community Bank Discovery Speakers Series.

Hosted by the Friends of the annual Dubois Museum, history comes alive during this annual fundraiser. Games, vendors, and reenactors will keep visitors entertained as they tour through the Museum's exhibit hall and buildings. Unmatched in his working knowledge of the actual methods of ancestral tool making during his life as a cowboy, Tom is a mountain man, outdoorsman, and artist. He’ll set up on the front porch of the Dennison Lodge where visitors can learn firsthand what it takes to create arrowheads and other points out of natural materials like obsidian, antler, and bone. Free, but donations welcome.
