South Pass City Gold Rush Days
Head to South Pass City for a weekend of enjoyment. Pan for gold, see historic exhibits and gold mining demonstrations, Pony Express reenactments, a vintage baseball tournament, live saloon music and the anvil blasting at the Price Street Bridge every hour on the hour. Gold Rush Days also includes tours of the Carissa Mine & Mill and the opportunity to explore five-miles of interpretive trails. A cornhole tournament to benefit Eagles Hope Transitions will be hosted by the Riverton Holiday Inn from 4 to 8 p.m. on July 12. There will be refreshments, raffle baskets and fun for the entire family. For more information, call 307-463-2020.

In 1899, the Wild Bunch robbed a train outside of Wilcox. Legend has it that they buried their ill-gotten gains somewhere in Fremont County but never came back to retrieve it. The Riverton Museum just unearthed clues that the treasure might be hiding on this very property. Join us in solving the clues to finding Butch Cassidy’s treasure and be prepared for a high-noon water-balloon catch to decide who gets it, weather permitting. Pioneer Museum’s 4th Annual Apple City Festival. Lander was known as the “Apple City” for the high number of orchards and the apples that were produced there. Apples were an important part of the agricultural economy in the area for many years, and the Apple City Festival pays tribute to this part of Lander’s history with speakers, an Apple pie contest (cash prizes), local apple cider and apple samples, kids crafts and a petting zoo. The 127th Fremont Toyota Pioneer Days will be held on July 3 and 4 in Lander, Wyoming. There will be a half-marathon, parade, rodeo, fireworks, little cowpokes, and Indian relay races. Events held at various locations around Lander. More information to come.

Join us for the Pioneer Museum’s Halloween Night at the Museum. Head to the Pioneer Museum for an evening filled with frighteningly cool decoration, spooky stories, crafts, hay rides, hot cocoa, treats and a campfire for roasting. Costumes are encouraged.
