Fremont County Pioneer Museum: Sheep Shearing Day
Visit the Fremont County Pioneer Museum in Lander for this Bailey Tire/Pit Stop Children’s Exploration Series program. Sheep Shearing Day is all about Sheep Sheep Sheep! Explore the history of the Sheep industry in Wind River Country. Witness actual Sheep Shearing, pet sheep, make crafts from sheep’s wool, buy products made from sheep’s wool and lots more. A unique biking experience for the whole family that showcases Lander’s scenic cycling routes from 15-100 miles. The Shoshone District of Wyoming State Parks is excited to offer summer camp at Sinks Canyon State Park. Wyoming State Parks Interpretive Rangers will guide campers through activities, along trails and into the water to explore all that Wyoming has to offer. Lander Pioneer Days
LOTRA puts on the oldest paid rodeo in the world, the Lander Pioneer Days Rodeo July 3 & 4. Lander's Pioneer Days Rodeo pre-dates Cheyenne Frontier Days by three years, beginning in 1894. Now days, the Lander Fremont Toyota Pioneer Days celebration means a half-marathon, parade, rodeo, fireworks, little cowpokes, and Indian relay races.
