Annual Tie Hack Trek

Join the Dubois Museum for this WRVC Adventure Trek Series. This year we will follow the tie hacks up the West Dunoir Valley to see where they harvested ties, stacked the ties and where the main headquarters was. Difficult long hike (approximately 11 to 12 miles total.) Bring bear spray, bug spray, hiking boots, water crossing shoes/sandals, trekking poles, water and lunch. The Granier Ditch Adventure Trek

Join the Pioneer Museum to learn about the famous Granier ditch, dug in 1882 to bring water to the South Pass area to hydraulically mine for gold. Remnants of the ditch are still visible. This trek requires an ATV. You must be able to meet at the Granier Meadows on the Loop Road with an ATV to make this journey.

“Weather Along the Trails”
