Fremont County Museums: First Fridays
Take the kids to any of our Fremont County Museums (Dubois Museum, Pioneer Museum in Lander, Riverton Museum) on the first Friday of every month from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for free admission with at least one paying adult. Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek Series with Craig Bromley Craig Bromley will lead us on a trek near South Pass as we explore this historical place and why it was important to Native Americans, Mountain Men and Emigrants who used it. A Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Series trek provided by the Lander Pioneer Museum. $15 per person. Meet at the museum at 9:30 a.m. We will be carpooling. Reservations required. This trek is part of the Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek Series. Dr. Matt Brueseke of Kansas State University will lead a geology trek up Lava Mountain on July 6th at 9am. This will be an exciting opportunity to learn about volcanic activity up close. This is considered a difficult hike. Participants should pack bear spray, bug spray, a hat, trekking poles, water, and lunch. Advanced Registration is required. $20 Per Person. Join the Dubois Museum as they explore Union Pass to see where the tie hacks lived, flumes that brought the ties down and a headgate. This trek includes easy to moderate hiking.
