The Granier Ditch Adventure Trek
Join the Pioneer Museum to learn about the famous Granier ditch, dug in 1882 to bring water to the South Pass area to hydraulically mine for gold. Remnants of the ditch are still visible. This trek requires an ATV. You must be able to meet at the Granier Meadows on the Loop Road with an ATV to make this journey.

The Riverton Museum will host Craig Bromley for this Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek Series. View the petroglyphs at Castle Gardens and learn about the Bureau of Land Management’s efforts to preserve them. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Riverton Museum at (307) 856-2665. $20 per person. This trek requires a good amount of walking. Transportation is provided round trip from the Riverton Museum. Everyone is responsible to bring their own sack lunch and water.

Winter is inevitable in South Pass City (SPC), so enjoy it and take a hike! Every year on New Year's Day, South Pass City hosts a hike on one of the five miles of trail on the historic site. A guide brings history to life talking about the day to day life of miners that called SPC home. Refreshments are served trailside, courtesy of the Friends of South Pass. Meet at Dance Hall. Meet at the Nature Trail in the Popo Agie Campground, and enjoy a two mile hike around the Nature Trail and up to a beautiful overlook halfway up the North Slope Trail. Park staff will lead the hike and offer an interpretive program along the way geared for guests of all ages. Dress for the weather, and expect snow on the trail. Hot drinks will be provided. Winter In Wyoming With Women Who Hike
Explore beautiful Boysen State Park in the heart of winter. Activities are optional, though encouraged. Superintendent John Bass will teach ice fishing, District Manager Brooks Jordan will teach Wintertime Survival, and the outdoor ice rink will provide for time on skates.
