Dubois Museum: Tie Hack Trek: The First Years
Explore the gorgeous views and amazing history of the Upper Wind River Valley including the Tie Hack history and ruins around Lava Mountain and Triangle C Ranch west of Dubois. Railroad ties were cut and used for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad between Lander, Wy, and Blunt, SD. Moderate hiking, bear spray, bug spray, hiking boots, trekking poles, water, and lunch are required. Social distancing encouraged. Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek Series. Riverton Museum: 1838 Mountain Man Rendezvous Site Adventure Trek
1838 Rendezvous Association provides a guided tour of the last preserved rendezvous site in the country. Meet at 9:30am - tour begins 10am at the 1838 Rendezvous Site. A good amount of walking so dress accordingly. Food is available at the site. Demonstrations and seminars following the tour. Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek Series. In 1869 Wyoming Territory became the first US government to grant women the right to vote. Hosted by the Friends of the annual Dubois Museum, history comes alive during this annual fundraiser. Games, vendors, and reenactors will keep visitors entertained as they tour through the Museum's exhibit hall and buildings.
